The club christmas dinner saw the first annual club awards very capably presided over by our own Meurig Hughes with all of the suave and debonair poise of a young Richard Burton.

Club goes out in ‘No Lycra’ shocker

Ruthin Cycling Club hosted it’s first annual christmas dinner at Ruthin Rugby club on Friday 11th December.  Circa 40 members and partners enjoyed a convivial evening of socialising and copious* food and drink.

The evening also saw the first club awards ceremony and a first outing from our own resident Dylan Thomas impersonator.

*the caterers may have over estimated the appetites of a group of cyclists 🙂

Ruthin Cycling Club will be hosting a Christmas Dinner on Friday 11th December (7:30 for 8:00pm) at Ruthin Rugby Club

Chicken liver and brandy pate served with a honey & mustard side salad and melba toast

Melon (v) drizzled with a peach liqueur and raspberry coulis

MAIN COURSES

Traditional roast crown of turkey served with sage, onion & pork stuffing balls, mini pork sausages wrapped in smoked bacon, rich roast gravy and cranberry sauce

Beef stifado Chunks of locally sourced beef with baby onions in a rich red wine based gravy

Goats Cheese & cherry tomato tartlet (v)

All mains are served with:  roast potatoes (v); buttered new potatoes (v); sprouts with smoked bacon: chunky carrots (v); broccoli (v)
